Weekend timing
Why is a weekend porta potty rental dropped Friday and picked up Monday?
Our drivers deliver and pick up Monday through Friday, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. A porta potty for a Saturday or Sunday event is dropped off on Friday and picked up on Monday. The Friday drop also protects your event, because no driver can promise an exact time inside that 10-hour window.
Event start times are fixed. Truck routes are not. A route can run late because of traffic, a tight gate or a job ahead of yours.
Dropping the unit a day early takes that risk off your event day. The unit is already standing, locked and stocked when guests arrive.

Price basis
Does a Friday-to-Monday porta potty rental cost extra?
A Friday-to-Monday porta potty rental does not cost extra: the price is the same whether the unit stays 1 day or 4 days. Event rentals cover 1–4 days, from the business day before your event through the business day after it.
| Your event day | We drop off | We pick up | Extra charge for the extra days? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Saturday | Friday | Monday | No |
| Sunday | Friday | Monday | No |
| Saturday + Sunday | Friday | Monday | No |
| Friday evening | Thursday | Monday | No |
| Weekday (e.g. Wednesday) | Tuesday | Thursday | No |
| Long holiday weekend | Friday (or Thursday) | Tuesday | No |
In our call data, 14 of 78 callers wanted a unit for only a few hours or one day. No hourly rate exists. The event price covers the full drop-off-to-pickup window, so use the unit as long as you like.

Lead time
How far ahead should you book a weekend porta potty?
Book a weekend porta potty at least 2 business days ahead, so call by Wednesday for a Saturday event. Orders placed by 2:30 p.m. usually go out the next business day. Holiday weekends and July, when the California Rodeo Salinas runs, fill first, so book those about 2 weeks ahead.
Late-week calls are where weekend plans fall apart. A Thursday call for a Saturday event can work in a quiet week. In a holiday week, every truck may already be booked.
If someone else must approve the rental, ask for the quote number on the first call. Then the approver can call back and confirm in one minute.
Holiday weekends
What happens on a long holiday weekend?
On a long holiday weekend, the porta potty is still dropped on Friday, and pickup moves to Tuesday at no extra cost. Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends are the 2 most common Tuesday pickups. Holiday weeks fill early, so some deliveries move up to Thursday to fit every route.
| Holiday weekend | Typical drop-off | Typical pickup | Book by |
|---|---|---|---|
| Memorial Day (late May) | Friday, sometimes Thursday | Tuesday | 2 weeks ahead |
| Independence Day (July 4) | Business day before the event | Business day after the holiday | 2 weeks ahead |
| California Rodeo Salinas week (July) | Business day before the event | Business day after | 2 weeks ahead |
| Labor Day (early September) | Friday, sometimes Thursday | Tuesday | 2 weeks ahead |
| Any regular weekend | Friday | Monday | 2 business days ahead |
From the call data: Labor Day weekend sold out on many of the calls we reviewed. Callers who waited until the week of the holiday were the ones turned away.
Step by step
How do you plan a Friday-to-Monday porta potty rental, step by step?
A Friday-to-Monday porta potty rental takes 5 steps: book with your ZIP and dates, mark the spot, let the driver drop the unit on Friday, run your event, and leave the unit clear for Monday pickup. Event rentals need no pickup call. The driver phones about 30 minutes before each visit.
- 1
Book by Wednesday
Give the ZIP, event date, guest count and where the unit goes. You get an itemized quote and a quote number.
- 2
Mark the spot
Use a cone, chalk or ribbon on level ground within about 15 feet of where the truck can park. Add the gate code to your order notes.
- 3
Friday drop-off
Nobody needs to be home. The driver calls about 30 minutes ahead and sets the door away from the wind.
- 4
Event day
The unit arrives cleaned, with toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Open the combination lock when guests arrive.
- 5
Monday pickup
Leave the path clear and the gate open or coded. No call is needed for event rentals.
Not sure how many units? The porta potty calculator uses guests, hours and alcohol to give a count.
Security
How do you keep a porta potty secure from Friday to Monday?
Ask for 1 free combination lock, and keep the unit locked from Friday until the event starts. A locked porta potty stays clean for your guests. The renter is responsible for vandalism or damage at an unattended site, so a lock matters most in parks and public lots.
- Ask for the free combination lock when you book
- Share the code only with the people who open the event
- Place the unit where it can be seen from the house or street, not hidden behind a hedge
- Relock it after the event if it stays over Sunday night
- Keep it away from pools, fire pits and play areas
“Does it come with a lock? Because it will be out in public.”

Servicing
Is a weekend porta potty cleaned during the event?
A weekend event porta potty is not cleaned during the event: it arrives cleaned and fully stocked, with no mid-event service included. For a 2-day event or a big crowd, add a mid-event service or add 1 more unit. Either choice is listed as its own line on the quote before you pay.
For a one-day party, a stocked unit is usually enough. For a Saturday and Sunday event with heavy use, ask about a Sunday-morning service when you book. Adding a handwashing station also cuts wear on the unit when food is served.
