These rental terms apply to every porta potty, handwashing station, VIP unit and restroom trailer rented from Edward Rental Works, 520 Brunken Ave, Salinas, CA 93901. Last updated October 6, 2026. Questions? Call (831) 260-5800.
1. How do quotes and booking work?
- Every quote is itemized: unit rental, delivery and pickup, servicing, any rush fee and sales tax. No fuel or convenience fee is added.
- Each quote has a quote number. The price you approve is the price you are charged unless you change the order.
- A booking is confirmed when payment is received and you sign the rental agreement electronically (sent by text and email).
2. How do I pay?
- Rentals are paid in full by credit or debit card at booking. A pay-by-link option is available so you do not have to read a card number aloud.
- We do not accept cash. Payment is by credit or debit card only.
- Tax-exempt organizations must send a valid exemption certificate before delivery to remove sales tax.
3. How long is a rental, and how does it renew?
- Event (short-term) rentals cover 1–4 days: delivery on a business day before the event and pickup on the business day after.
- Long-term rentals bill in 28-day cycles. A cycle renews automatically on day 29 until the unit is picked up.
- To stop renewal, call at least 2 business days before the cycle ends to schedule pickup. We text a reminder before each renewal. Billing stops on the scheduled pickup date.
- The first long-term cycle includes the one-time delivery and pickup charge. Later cycles include the unit and weekly service only.
4. How do delivery, placement and access work?
- Deliveries and pickups run Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–5 p.m. We do not promise an exact time; the driver calls about 30 minutes ahead.
- Weekend events are delivered Friday (or Thursday on holiday weekends) and picked up the next business day at no extra charge.
- You choose a level, firm spot within about 15 feet of where the truck can park, clear of overhead wires, sprinkler heads and septic lids. Tell us about gates, gate codes and slopes when booking.
- Placement in a public street or sidewalk may need an encroachment permit from the city or county. The renter is responsible for any required permit.
- If the driver cannot deliver because access is blocked or the spot is unsafe, a return-trip charge may apply. We call you before leaving.
5. How are units serviced?
- Long-term units are serviced weekly: tank pumped, interior cleaned and sanitized, deodorizer added, toilet paper and sanitizer restocked.
- Event units are delivered clean and stocked. Additional service visits can be added for a fee.
- Please keep the unit reachable on service day. A missed service because of locked gates may be rescheduled, not refunded.
6. Can I cancel or change my order?
- Cancel or reschedule free until 3 p.m. on the business day before delivery for a full refund.
- After that time, the delivery and pickup portion may be charged if the truck has been routed.
- You may add units, add a sink or handwash station, or change the address until 3 p.m. the business day before delivery, subject to availability.
7. What am I responsible for while the unit is on site?
- Use units only for human waste and toilet paper. Trash, paint, concrete washout, chemicals and hazardous waste are prohibited and may incur a cleaning or disposal charge.
- Do not move units yourself except towable units moved as agreed. Tell us the new spot so the service truck can find it.
- The renter is responsible for loss, fire, vandalism, graffiti or tipping damage while the unit is at the site. A combination lock is available free on request.
- We take care during delivery and pickup but are not responsible for damage to lawns, landscaping or underground items not marked or disclosed before delivery.
8. What extra terms apply to restroom trailers?
- Restroom trailers need a standard 110-volt, 20-amp outlet within about 50 feet and a garden-hose water connection, unless otherwise quoted.
- Trailers need a level spot and truck access. The renter must keep the trailer doors locked when unattended and report any plumbing issue right away.
9. Who is responsible for compliance?
- We size orders using Cal/OSHA, ADA and event-permit guidance on request, but the renter is responsible for meeting the rules that apply to their site, event or crew.
- Information on this website is general guidance, not legal advice.
Plain-English versions of these terms: how the 28-day cycle renews, how 1–4 day event rentals work and what each quote line covers.
